May 11, 2023 marks the end of the Public Health Emergency declaration from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. There will be some changes to the way certain benefits related to COVID-19 are covered under your ICUBA medical insurance.
Test kits are available at no cost through May 11, 2023 at Walmart, Rite Aid, or Sam’s Club.
Simply present your BCBS Member ID card at the pharmacy.

Members can also order test kits online directly through BCBS and Optum Rx by following the instructions available by clicking here.
COVID-19 Vaccines will be covered based on a member’s preventive benefits.
COVID-19 Lab Test & Related Services will be covered according to the member’s plan benefits.
COVID-19 Treatment, including antiviral medications, will be covered according to the member’s plan benefits. Over-the-counter
COVID-19 tests will no longer be covered by medical or pharmacy benefits, but can be paid for with FSA and HRA funds.
Any benefit plans that waived Prior Authorization for COVID-related services will now require Prior Authorizations for claims payment.
