June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month
Updated: Jun 3, 2022
June is Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month — an opportunity to hold a conversation about the brain, and share the fact that Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias are a major public health issue. Everyone who has a brain is at risk to develop Alzheimer’s, the only leading cause of death that cannot be prevented, cured or even slowed. During the month of June, the Alzheimer’s Association® asks people around the world to wear Purple and use their brains to fight Alzheimer’s disease. Summer starts June 21, are you ready to beat the summer heat?
With summer just around the corner, it's important to know how to stay safe while enjoying the summer sun! A great way to stay safe in the summer sun is to make sure you use sunscreen when you go outside. Johns Hopkins recommends about 1 ounce of sunscreen to protect your face, neck, arms and legs at least 30 minutes before venturing outside and every 2 hours thereafter.
Did you know you can purchase sunscreen online through the FSA Store and have it shipped right to your door? Additionally, if you contribute funds to a Flexible Spending Account, or a have an employer funded Health Reimbursement Account, you can use your ICUBA Benefits MasterCard to purchase sunscreen (it's an eligible expense). There isn't an easier way to avoid unnecessary sun exposure than online shopping!
For more information, login to the Ameriflex participant portal using ICUBA's secure single sign-on. If you have established a username and password with Ameriflex, you can also download the Ameriflex app for your mobile device from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
