World AIDS Day

December 1 is World AIDS Day—an effort  to raise awareness, end HIV stigma, and advance efforts to expand access to HIV testing. Explore HIV.gov for important resources to help inform and engage your community. Healthy People 2030 offers a range of resources to help prevent sexually transmitted infections, including evidence-based resources for professionals, and the importance of expanding HIV awareness by increasing the number of people who know their HIV status.

National Influenza Vaccination Week

National Influenza Vaccination Week takes place December 2–6, focusing on the benefits of getting a flu shot. Join in by sharing the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) materials to educate people in your community about flu prevention.

Visit the MyHealthfinder page for tips on staying safe this flu season & view the Healthy People 2030 infographic about annual flu vaccination numbers.

TIP OF THE MONTH

Adult and pediatric immunizations are NO COST under ICUBA medical plans—this includes the flu vaccine and COVID vaccine.

Keep in mind that while your coinsurance and deductible do not apply, you may be required to pay the usual and customary copay for an office visit to your healthcare provider when receiving vaccines in an office setting.
